Lunar Eclipse Ritual with Blessing of the Passage ways

Virgo Lunar Eclipse Altar

This is my altar and ceremony that I carried out with the lunar eclipse in Virgo. 

I spent my morning at this altar, working with the past and the future not as separate things, but as layers.

In this ritual, we don’t just throw away the past; we use it as the foundation. We build the future directly on top of it, blessing the path forward with holy water we’ve created ourselves.

I used the Anubis Oracle (the Neteru) to anchor the energy, but you can use whichever deck calls to you.

Below is a guide on how to build this altar and perform the overlay ritual for yourself.

After coming into centre in your own way, attune to the energies of the lunar eclipse and the current (ongoing) dances in the heavens

Relax into your space and allow your intentions to become clear

Be ready to set your altar as a visual representation of the energies - including your own.

Setting the Altar

Flow with what you are guided to do and use.

I had two ankhs that represent very different times in my life so they spoke well to an old and new version of me with this release and blessing the passage ways ahead altar

Pulling cards for the energies of the heavens, and for the past and future help you feel more deeply into what needs shifting.

bring any tools and sacred items to the altar that feel important.

I also had flowers and a candle which I left to burn out on its own.

Take as long as you need with this part of the ritual

Sit with the altar and feel the currents moving through your ceremonial space.

Journal what needs to be released, and what needs your focus for moving forwards.

You could phrase it 'what is to be eclipsed out?' and 'what is to be eclipsed in?'

Listen and trust all that you see, sense and feel.

Take time to let the altar sit. I was guided to release one day, and bless on the next. Depending on what you are bringing to your altar, you may have to wait a shorter or longer amount of time.

When the time is right to return to your altar and continue your sacred work chose more cards to overlay the older ones. This will tell you how the energies have shifted.

Repeat this phase as often as feels right.

To complete your ritual create your own 'holy water' or use a trusted spirit mist you own. Smoke will work too but the moon guided me to water.

I created my own water like this:

Water from a natural source ( I took a small amount from my nature pond which has been under the energies of the moon)

Add incense, crystals, herbs, flower waters - anything that feels right to be in your water.

Let the water sit in the sun or bless it with the light of a candle.

Say a simple blessing over the water and offer your love and gratitude for the blessing you will receive with the water.

Mist or sprinkle your 'holy water' on all items that represent carrying you forward, blessing the passage ways that are ready to open before you:

Your car - helps you travel

Your bed - you travel in your dreams

Front door or doors you use a lot - where you cross thresholds

Spaces that feel sacred to you

You may even wish to bless your feet.
