Loneliness or Solitude? A Sacred Bond with Your Soul

As I attempt to write this for the third time I am reminded of the ways in which I avoid communication and instead choose the solitude of my own company, my own world. Yet it is that behavioural pattern that led me to openly share this musing.

I have been feeling alone, and I have spoken with others that have also been feeling this way. Yet loneliness has been fleeting, more passing moments than spells of time.

As a space holder I take it upon myself to explore everything that presents itself to me, the lives we live are our greatest teachers, everything that happens has something for us to learn from - either about ourselves, another, or simply because it is important to know that thing more deeply.

What I discovered with the waves of loneliness is that a greater shift is taking place.

Quite honestly I am tired of hearing myself talk about the 'shedding', the 'letting go of what no longer serves', but it such an essential part of transformation or transmutation that actually never ceases. Neither does the continuous inflow of 'the new'.

The loneliness has been the window to be able to see the spaces, the voids and the playgrounds of my being that are longing for community, relationship, communication, not just with another human but with all things - the Earth, the lineages that we are a part of.

The Soul knows the script that we are playing out, we are like the puppet being danced about on the gossamer threads, tumbled all over the place and divinely guided to the places and moments that serve our highest calling.

Sometimes those places are the silent, still places of solitude.

The place where you hear your Soul.

The moments where you feel the expansion.

The portal in which you gently move from one state of being to another.

Orson Welles famously said "We are born alone, we live alone and we die alone" popularising the philosophical idiom that humans come into, and leave this world alone. And although we live beautiful lives of relationships and community and we experience love we ultimately see the world from our own solitary perspective.

What if the Soul is calling us into deeper relationship with Self, for the simple act of embodying who we have now become from all of the self work we have been carrying out.

I certainly feel much better after embracing spells of loneliness, I feel stronger in my own integrity. I have come back to the Sacred bond with my Soul.

I feel energised and ready to step out into what is a very tumultuous world right now, a place that takes a lot of energy to move around in. A place filled with many people unaware of the importance of listening to the Soul, and the medicine in such a simple act.

So if you are reading this and have been having similar feelings then know that this quietude is a sacred preparation. You are being invited to embody the work you have already done. To ready yourself for the relationships, community and communion that is authentic. The version of you that you worked to 'become' needed a new stage, a new vision and a new rhythm. The test now is to stay confident in the quietness - confident that your Soul is guiding you across the threshold into the you that is becoming.
